Rocket Boys ~ October Skys

October Skys was a great movie. I really enjoyed watching the movie. My view of the movie was a boy had a big dream of becoming an astronaut and go to the moon. The characters that I liked were Homer, Quentin and Miss Riley. I liked the because they never gave up on themselves or on others. The character that I didn't like was John Hickman because he liked Homers bother better than him and when ever Homer build a rocket and wanted to boas it off he didn't come and he didn't support him. My favourite moment in the movie was when he wins the medal because he's so happy and excited that we won.

The Lovely Bones Book.

The Lovely Bones is the story of a family devastated by a  murder. A murder recounted by the teenage victim. Upsetting, you say? Remarkably, first-time novelist Alice Sebold takes this difficult material and delivers a compelling and accomplished exploration of a fractured family's need for peace and closure. The details of the crime are laid out in the first few pages: from her vantage point in heaven, Susie Salmon describes how she was confronted by the murderer one December afternoon on her way home from school. Lured into an underground hiding place, she was raped and killed. But what the reader knows, her family does not. Anxiously, we keep vigil with Susie, aching for her grieving family, desperate for the killer to be found and punished. Sebold creates a heaven that's calm and comforting, a place whose residents can have whatever they enjoyed when they were alive -- and then some. But Susie isn't ready to release her hold on life just yet, and she intensely watches her family and friends as they struggle to cope with a reality in which she is no longer a part. To her great credit, Sebold has shaped one of the most loving and sympathetic fathers in contemporary literature.

Lorde's Success :)

On the News the other night I saw a documentary about Lorde the 17 year old New Zealand singer. She is number 3 in the American charts behind Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball and Katy Perry- Roar. Theres are some of the biggest names on the music industry right now. She has also put out two other songs Tennis Court and Team. For a 17 year old she is going so well and is one of the biggest artists in the world. I think that Lorde is really inspirational because is has came from a little country New Zealand and is going well all over the world. :)

Karen Walker Childrenswear.

The other day I was reading through the Ponsonby news and saw an article that really interested me. It was about The designer Karen Walker was doing childswear. This interested me because I love Karen Walker and to see that she is doing childrenwear is amazing because some of the adult clothes don't really fit me so now that there is I will be going there lots. In the article it describes all of the patterns  she will use and age that it will be made for. In the article she says "I drew inspiration from the look of Karen Walker collections and with a little help from my five year old, Valentina"
